The Combined Club Members Lotto Draw takes place every Thursday night in Portlaoise. The draw raises funds for the club throughout the year and is the most important continuous fundraiser run by the club as regards raising finances for the weekly running of the club.Every week the club faces bills for items such as footballs, jerseys, referees, ground maintenance and physio. On top of this there is the loan repayments for the development of Tony Byrne Park and also the Milltown development is about to commence. The development in the club can be seen by everyone and with hurling and football teams from U-8’s to three adult teams as well as ladies football. The club is a vibrant organisation that needs everyone to lend a hand. Although not everyone has time to commit to the training of teams and to be part of the various committees, everyone in the parish can play a part in the development and up keep of the club by simply playing the lotto.
We have one of the most successful teams in the recent history of Laois County football and a club and a parish to be proud of. To help drive the club forward with success on and off the pitch, we need the help of everyone.
We have joined together with six other clubs throughout the county to run the draw to ensure the jackpot is a substantial figure every week. It is guaranteed to be €1000 every week. Last week the jackpot was won at over €7000.
Club members will be calling to all houses around the parish to try and get members and parishioners to sign up to play the lotto every week. A ticket costs €2 or if every house bought two tickets a week it would be the same as one pint every week to the club!!
